For the more serious readers of this website and for those looking for a single source reference to better understand the current state of cyber security issues along with a thorough and comprehensive presentation of the cyber future in the United States, our staff recommends reading an excellent and most comprehensive report entitled “America’s Cyber Future: Security and Prosperity in the Information Age.”

This report was published by The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) and is presented as a two-volume product, with volume one being the summary and analysis portion and volume two being a 250-page collection of detail essays on key subjects penned by an eclectic group of experts in the field of cyber security.

This report was brought to the attention of our staff by an article written by Steven Bucci, who writes about cybersecurity, modern warfare and the interagency process, particularly as it involves defending the domestic interests of the U.S.  Bucci’s write-up was posted on a website co-hosted by the Adfero Group and The George Washington University Homeland Security Policy Institute.

For those really serious about learning more about cyber security, this report is a must read and should be added to your reference reading library on this timely and critical topic.  Most likely, many of the potential threat issues presented in this report should be reviewed, evaluated and possibly be part of an update to your organization’s business impact analysis exercise(s).
